IDDU
Siamo a Stromboli.
We are on Stromboli. Nicola Dipierro tells the story of the island outside the tourist season, when only the 300 inhabitants remain and their daily lives unfold. What defines this place above all is the volcano, which the people of Stromboli call Iddu, ‘Him’: a close, familiar presence, even when it does not appear in photographs. Dipierro recounts the experiences of those who have chosen the island of Stromboli, where the presence of the volcano is part of their relationship with the place, just as the water that marks its boundaries is.
