Christian Vizl

SUBMERGED SYMPHONY
SINFONIA SOMMERSA

Deep in the sea, a childhood dream seems to take shape: the water vanishes, leaving sea creatures suspended in a boundless space. This is the world that Christian Vizl, a Mexican photographer, imagined as a child. Years of diving have transformed that fantasy into a keen photographic eye, capable of imbuing reality with a dreamlike quality. His images of the ocean show what actually exists, yet it is as though we are seeing it for the first time. The water seems to vanish, leaving the animals suspended between reality and dreams.
