L’ACQUA È UN ATTO DI FEDE
Il fotografo Andrea Agostini sceglie la ritualità, i gesti quotidiani elevati al sacro come lente documentaria per cogliere la dimensione sociale e spirituale, identitaria degli abitanti di alcuni villaggi in Mozambico, e ricorre a simboli archetipici per scuotere la nostra sensibilità e responsabilità sugli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici. Attraverso corto circuiti visivi, celebra la resilienza di questa comunità, che accoglie la costruzione di 4 pozzi di acqua potabile, ad opera dell’ONG italiana “Amici per l’Africa, come un dono divino.
Photographer Andrea Agostini chooses rituality – everyday gestures elevated to the sacred – as his documentary lens to capture the social and spiritual dimension, and the sense of identity, of the inhabitants of certain villages in Mozambique, and draws on archetypal symbols to stir our sensibilities and sense of responsibility regarding the effects of climate change. Through visual contrasts, he celebrates the resilience of this community, which welcomes the construction of four drinking-water wells by the Italian NGO ‘Amici per l’Africa’ as a divine gift.

Ha studiato Storia del Cinema all’Università di Padova.
Fotografo documentarista e storyteller, i suoi lavori fotografici indagano la ritualità e la resistenza, e attraverso simbologie raccontano l’identità e la memoria di un territorio, che siano le periferie romane o le comunità africane.
Ha esposto al Festival della Fotografia Italiana e al Festival della Fotografia Etica di Lodi, Finalista a Les Recontres de la Photographie Marrakech.
Andrea Agostini (Venice – 1979)
He studied Film History at the University of Padua. A documentary photographer and storyteller, his photographic works explore ritual and resistance, and use symbolism to convey the identity and memory of a place, be it the outskirts of Rome or African communities. He has exhibited at the Italian Photography Festival and the Lodi Festival of Ethical Photography, and was a finalist at Les Recontres de la Photographie Marrakech.
