OPEN CALL 2026 | IL CANTO DELL’ACQUA
2° Edizione del Festival Internazionale di Fotografia di Sutri
Il Doebbing Foto Festival indice la OPEN CALL INTERNAZIONALE per selezionare progetti espositivi della seconda edizione del Festival Internazionale di Fotografia di Sutri, che si terrà dal 21 novembre 2026 al 24 gennaio 2027,
I fotografi sono invitati a misurarsi con il tema portante dell’edizione 2026: L’ACQUA, sviscerata attraverso il filtro concettuale del titolo “Il Canto dell’Acqua”.
La Open Call Internazionale è aperta a tutte le categorie di autori, senza limiti di età o nazionalità. Possono candidarsi:
– Fotografi singoli (professionisti e amatori)
– Collettivi fotografici
– Scuole di fotografia.
I fotografi sono chiamati ad esplorare l’acqua non come semplice sfondo, ma come elemento centrale di un racconto visivo. La Call indaga la forza vitale dell’elemento, la memoria dei territori, il paesaggio marino e fluviale, i cambiamenti climatici (siccità/alluvioni/erosione costiera) il legame millenario dell’uomo con l’Acqua, le architetture, la gestione delle risorse idriche, la simbologia, la spiritualità e i riti e miti ad essa collegati (rinascita, purificazione, vita) etc.
Requisiti di Partecipazione e Invio Lavori
- Tipologia di opera: La candidatura deve essere presentata sotto forma di progetto/portfolio coerente. Sono accetti tutti i tipi di linguaggio, dal documentaristico al concettuale. Non sono ammessi lavori realizzati con AI.
- Numero di foto: Ogni lavoro inviato deve contenere un minimo di 8 e un massimo di 15 fotografie.
- Candidature multiple: Ogni autore può candidare più lavori distinti.
- Caratteristiche file: Le immagini devono essere inviate esclusivamente in formato JPEG, dimensione minima 4000 pixel lato lungo.
- Nomenclatura file: I file devono essere tassativamente nominati nel seguente modo, rispettando l’ordine cronologico della serie:
Nome_Cognome_TitoloLavoro_NumeroProgressivo.jpg
(Esempio: Mario_Rossi_IlCantoDelMare_01.jpg)
2. Quote di Iscrizione
La partecipazione prevede una quota flessibile a seconda del numero di progetti presentati dallo stesso autore:
- Prima candidatura: € 20,00
- Seconda candidatura: € 15,00
- Terza candidatura (e successive): € 10,00
3. Criteri di Selezione
La giuria composta dalla Direzione artistica del Festival (Raffaella Canfarini, Vittorio Faggiani e Debora Valentini) e da un giurato finale (in definizione) selezionerà i lavori valutando i seguenti parametri:
- Attinenza e profondità di sviluppo del tema dell’acqua.
- Originalità del linguaggio visivo ed espressivo utilizzato.
- Rispondenza complessiva alla linea curatoriale del Festival.
4. Premi e Circuito Espositivo
Il bando offre due diverse opportunità espositive a seconda della classifica:
- I 3 Progetti Vincitori: Saranno esposti con la loro serie completa all’interno del circuito ufficiale del Festival Internazionale, e avranno visibilità sul sito e su tutti i canali della comunicazione della manifestazione.
- I Lavori Idonei (Circuito Off): Le opere ritenute meritevoli ma non vincitrici saranno incluse in un percorso espositivo diffuso. Verranno selezionate da 1 a 3 immagini per autore da esporre all’interno dei locali e delle attività partner nel comune di Sutri.
- Costi di produzione: Per tutti i fotografi selezionati (sia vincitori che circuito Off), i costi di stampa e allestimento sono a totale carico dell’organizzazione.
5. Modalità di Invio e Scadenza
- Termine ultimo: I lavori e la ricevuta di pagamento devono pervenire entro e non oltre il 25 ottobre 2026 alle ore 23:59.

OPEN CALL 2026 | THE SONG OF WATER
2nd Edition of the Sutri International Photography Festival
The Doebbing Foto Festival is launching an INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL to select exhibition projects for the second edition of the Sutri International Photography Festival, to be held from November 21, 2026, to January 24, 2027,
Photographers are invited to engage with the central theme of the 2026 edition: WATER, explored through the conceptual lens of the title “The Song of Water.”
The International Open Call is open to all categories of artists, with no restrictions on age or nationality. The following may apply:
– Individual photographers (professionals and amateurs)
– Photography collectives
– Photography schools.
Photographers are encouraged to explore water not merely as a backdrop, but as the central element of a visual narrative. The call explores the vital force of water, the memory of territories, marine and river landscapes, climate change (droughts/floods/coastal erosion), the connection between humans and water, architecture, water resource management, symbolism, spirituality, and the rituals and myths associated with it (rebirth, purification, life).
Eligibility Requirements and Submission Guidelines
• Type of Work: Entries must be submitted in the form of a cohesive project or portfolio. All artistic approaches are accepted, from documentary to conceptual. Works created using AI are not permitted.
• Number of Photos: Each submission must contain a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 photographs.
• Multiple Submissions: Each artist may submit multiple distinct works.
• File Specifications: Images must be submitted exclusively in JPEG format, with a minimum dimension of 2500 pixels on the longest side.
• File Naming Convention: Files must be named strictly as follows, in chronological order of the series:
FirstName_LastName_WorkTitle_SequenceNumber.jpg
(Example: Mario_Rossi_IlCantoDelMare_01.jpg)
2. Entry Fees
The entry fee varies depending on the number of projects submitted by the same author:
• First submission: €20.00
• Second submission: €15.00
• Third entry (and subsequent entries): €10.00
3. Selection Criteria
The jury will select the works based on the following criteria:
• Relevance to and depth of exploration of the theme of water.
• Originality of the visual and expressive language used.
• Overall alignment with the Festival’s curatorial vision.
4. Awards and Exhibition Circuit
The call for entries offers two different exhibition opportunities depending on the ranking:
• The 3 Winning Projects: These will be exhibited in their entirety as part of the official circuit of the International Festival and will be featured on the event’s website and social media channels.
• Eligible Works (Off-Circuit): Works deemed worthy but not selected as winners will be included in a widespread exhibition circuit. Between 1 and 3 images per artist will be selected for display at partner venues and events in the municipality of Sutri.
• Production Costs: For all selected photographers (both winners and those in the Off Circuit), printing and installation costs will be fully covered by the organization.
5. Submission Guidelines and Deadline
• Deadline: Entries and proof of payment must be received no later than October 25, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
• Submission Address: Entries must be sent via email to EMAIL. For large files, please use a file transfer service (e.g., WeTransfer).

The work must be accompanied by the title, any captions for the individual images, a short bio of the author, a presentation text for the project, and a copy of the bank transfer.
